Vihtavuori N540 is a universal rifle powder that can be used in a wide range of medium-caliber rifles for hunting and target shooting. It’s a great choice for cartridges with bullet weights ranging from.223/5.56 mm to.308 Winchester and 30-06 Springfield.
The Vihtavuori N540 provides remarkable accuracy and clean burning. Due to the additional energy content in all of our N500 series powders, a velocity of up to 30-40 m/s can be produced with the same pressure level as the N100 Vihtavuori series equivalent. When employing larger bullets with higher loading densities and muzzle velocities, it’s definitely worth a go!
Thanks to its symmetrical size (1,0 mm length and 1,0 mm diameter), N540 meters well in reloading equipment and makes loading super easy.
Burn rate is like N150 and close to IMR 4350 and Reloder 19. Good choice for more powerful loads for 6.5×55 SE, .308 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield and many others.
